The brief.
A free tool with no sign-up has no email list, no ad budget and no referral loop. Search is the entire acquisition channel, which makes the SEO not a finishing touch but the product requirement.
It also has to be genuinely fast. Someone pasting a YouTube URL expects a transcript, not a loading state - and a tool that makes them wait loses to the next result.
What we did.
- Tool-first page: paste a URL, get the transcript, no account wall
- SoftwareApplication and Offer schema so search engines can read it as a free tool
- 15 questions marked up as FAQPage - the format AI answers quote from
- A page per use case and language so the long tail has somewhere to land
- Static-first delivery on Next.js so the tool page itself is fast
