Monthly plans by creator type

Extras and rules

  • Revisions: 2 rounds per deliverable are included. An extra round is ₹299.
  • Rush delivery: 24-hour delivery adds 25% to the price.
  • Turnaround: thumbnails 24-48 hours, Shorts 48-72 hours, long videos 5-10 days.
  • Payment: new clients pay 50% upfront and the balance on delivery.

New Creator price vs monetized price

You will see two prices on our rate card.

  • New Creator price is for channels not yet in the YouTube Partner Program. It is lower on purpose, because a small channel is not earning from its videos yet.
  • Monetized price is our standard rate, for channels that already earn from ads.

The work is the same at both prices. Every client gets a dedicated editor, the same revision rounds and the same turnaround. The only difference is what the channel can afford at its stage. When your channel gets monetized, you move to the standard rate from the next billing cycle.

Get your exact number: The pricing calculator asks your format, video length and edit level, and shows the price in seconds.

Part 2: Market ranges in India (our estimate)

There is no reliable public survey of video editing rates in India, so we will not pretend to quote one. What follows is our estimate, built the only honest way: hours of work multiplied by a typical hourly rate. We hire editors ourselves, so we see what editors ask for, but treat these as reasoning, not data.

How we estimate a price

Editing time depends on raw footage, not just the final length. A rough rule from our own work: a clean talking-head video needs a few hours of editing per 10 finished minutes; a story edit with B-roll, music and graphics can need a full working day or more.

WhoExample hours for a 10-min videoExample hourly rateEstimated price
New marketplace freelancer4-5 hours₹150-₹250about ₹600-₹1,250
Established freelancer6-8 hours₹300-₹500about ₹1,800-₹4,000
Agency or studio6-10 hours plus review₹400-₹700about ₹2,400-₹7,000

These are examples to show the maths, not quotes. A freelancer working 6 hours on a video at ₹300 an hour would need about ₹1,800 to make that hour worth it. If someone quotes far below the hours a job needs, they are either cutting corners or will run out of patience by the second revision.

Podcast editing charges in the market (our estimate)

A 60-minute multicam podcast needs watching the full episode at least once, switching cameras on every exchange, cleaning audio and adding titles. Say that takes 5-8 hours. At ₹250-₹500 an hour, that works out to roughly ₹1,250-₹4,000 for the episode before any clips. Clips are extra work, because finding good moments means watching the whole thing again.

Agencies vs freelancers

An agency costs more per hour because the price covers more people: an editor, someone reviewing the cut, a person managing your schedule, and backup when an editor is out. Whether that is worth it depends on your volume. Our video editing cost guide walks through the three market tiers in detail.

What changes a video editing price

Five things explain most of the gap between two quotes:

  1. Raw footage length. Two hours of raw footage for a 10-minute video is far more work than 15 minutes of raw footage. Always tell an editor both numbers.
  2. Edit level. Simple cuts and captions are quick. Hook rewrites, B-roll hunting and sound design take hours.
  3. Motion graphics. Animated text, maps, lower thirds and custom transitions are often the slowest part of an edit.
  4. Turnaround. Next-day delivery means your video jumps the queue. Expect a rush fee anywhere.
  5. Revisions. "Unlimited revisions" is usually priced in or quietly walked back. A fixed number of rounds is the more honest structure.

Niche matters too. A BGMI montage needs SFX timing and meme sense; a devotional channel needs calm pacing and correct Hindi text; a finance video needs clean charts. If you want to learn the craft side of these, our YouTube editing workflow checklist, Shorts editing style guide and beat-sync editing guide show what each level actually involves.

How to compare editing quotes: a checklist

Put every quote side by side and check:

  • Is the price per finished minute, per video, or per month?
  • What raw footage length does the price assume?
  • Which edit level is included (cuts only, or hook, B-roll, SFX, graphics)?
  • How many revision rounds, and what does an extra round cost?
  • What is the turnaround, and is there a rush fee?
  • Are thumbnails, captions and titles included or extra?
  • Who owns the final video and the project files?
  • Is there a paid trial before a monthly commitment?
  • Will you have one named editor, or whoever is free?
  • Does anyone ask for your channel password? (If yes, walk away. Editing never needs it.)

Our red flags when hiring a video editor post covers the warning signs in more depth.

Start with a paid trial

We do not give free samples. Instead, send us raw footage and we edit one video at its normal one-off price (Shorts from ₹449, long videos from ₹1,499). If you continue, that video counts as the first video of your plan, so you have not paid extra for the test.

A paid trial protects both sides. You see real work on your own footage, and the editor is paid properly, so you see their actual effort, not a rushed freebie.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to edit a 10-minute YouTube video in India?

At Shinel Studios a 10-minute standard edit is ₹3,490 at our New Creator price. In the wider market, our estimate is anywhere from a few hundred rupees on marketplaces to several thousand from established freelancers and studios, depending on hours and edit level.

What are typical podcast editing charges in India?

Our New Creator one-off price for a multicam episode up to 60 minutes is ₹3,499, and ₹4,399 for a monetized channel. Elsewhere, we estimate a full multicam episode at roughly 5-8 hours of work, so the price depends mostly on the editor's hourly rate and whether clips are included.

Why is the monetized price higher than the New Creator price?

The New Creator price helps channels that are not yet earning from YouTube. The work, revisions and turnaround are the same at both prices.

Do you offer a free sample edit?

No. We offer a paid trial instead: one video at its normal one-off price, which counts as the first video of your plan if you continue.

Is rush delivery available?

Yes. Rush 24-hour delivery adds 25% to the normal price, subject to editor availability.
