Roles, top to bottom

  • OwnerYou. Full control of the server.
  • ModeratorKeeps chat friendly: timeouts, deletes, warnings.
  • BotsAlert and moderation bots. Sits above members so it can manage them.
  • SquadPlayers who want pings for game nights and LFG.
  • Upload PingOpt-in role pinged for new videos.
  • MemberEveryone who joined and accepted the rules.

Tips for this server

  • Turn on AutoMod: block spam, mention raids, scam links and slurs before anyone sees them.
  • Enable Community in Server Settings. It unlocks announcement channels, forums, stages and onboarding.
  • Use Onboarding so new members pick their ping roles when they join, instead of a reaction-roles bot.
  • Ping the opt-in roles, not @everyone. Members who chose the ping actually want it.
  • Pin a format in #looking-for-group: game, rank, region, time.

Want us to build it? From ₹2,999. Your picks fit our Starter Server: roles, rules, AutoMod and alerts, done in 24-48 hours.

How to use the Discord server planner

  1. Pick your creator type. Gaming, Vlogger, Educator or Streamer. Each starts with the features that type of community uses most.
  2. Pick your server size. Just starting, growing, or a big community. Bigger servers get more voice rooms, helper roles and safety channels.
  3. Choose features. Switch on upload alerts, go-live alerts, polls, events, guides, verified roles and more. The layout updates as you click.
  4. Copy the plan. Copy the layout as plain text and build it in Discord, or send it to us and we build it for you.

A good server is small, clear and busy

New members decide in a few seconds whether a server is alive. Fewer channels with real conversation beat dozens of empty ones, so this planner adds channels only as your size grows. Put the rules and announcements first, give members opt-in ping roles instead of pinging everyone, and keep a private staff area so moderators can talk. When the server outgrows the layout, come back and pick the next size. For names and bios in fancy text, try the Discord font generator.

Frequently asked questions

How should I set up a Discord server for my YouTube channel?

Start small: a Start here category with welcome, rules and announcements, one general chat, an alerts channel for new videos, and a private staff area for moderators. Add voice rooms, events and topic channels only when members ask for them. An empty server with 40 channels feels dead; a small busy one feels alive.

How many channels should a new Discord server have?

For a new server, 10 to 15 channels is plenty, including the read-only ones like rules and announcements. Members should be able to see every channel without much scrolling. This planner keeps small servers lean and only adds channels like introductions, off-topic and extra voice rooms once you pick a bigger size.

What roles does a creator's Discord server need?

At minimum an Owner role, a Moderator role, a role for bots and a Member role. Add opt-in ping roles (upload, live, events) so you never have to ping everyone, and a Helper or VIP role once the community is busy enough to need one.

Why are there no emojis in the channel names?

Plain names are easier to search, read out loud and type, and they work with screen readers. You can always add your own style later; the plan gives you a clean base.

Is my plan saved or sent anywhere?

No. The planner runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.

Can Shinel Studios build the server for me?

Yes. Our Discord server setup starts at ₹2,999 one-time and is done in 24-48 hours: template, roles, rules, AutoMod and YouTube upload alerts. You own the server the whole time.
