Anmol Lipi to Unicode Gurmukhi.

Punjabi typed in Anmol Lipi, Asees or GurbaniAkhar is stored as English letters, "pMjwb" instead of ਪੰਜਾਬ, so it breaks on phones and on the web. Paste it here for clean Unicode Gurmukhi, or turn Unicode back into Anmol Lipi for software that still needs it.

Anmol Lipi, Asees and GurbaniAkhar share one keyboard layout, so one converter handles all three. ASCII digits become Gurmukhi digits (੧੨੩), as those fonts draw them.

How to convert Anmol Lipi or Asees text to Unicode Punjabi

  1. Paste the old-font text. Copy text typed in Anmol Lipi, Asees or GurbaniAkhar and paste it into the left box.
  2. Read the Unicode. The Gurmukhi appears on the right as you type, with the sihari, tippi, bindi and pairin letters in the right order.
  3. Copy. Press Copy result and paste it into WhatsApp, Word, Google Docs or a website.
  4. Going the other way. Choose Unicode to Anmol Lipi to get text for older software, then set its font to Anmol Lipi or Asees.

What the converter fixes

In Anmol Lipi the sihari (ਿ) is typed before its letter, the way it looks on paper, and vowels like ਉ are built from a carrier and a sign ("au"). Unicode stores the sihari after the letter and has single characters for the vowels. The converter reorders and composes them, and keeps the subscript ਰ, ਹ and ਵ (pairin) attached to the right letter.

Going back, it splits the vowels into carrier and sign and moves the sihari in front, so the text displays correctly when you set it to an Anmol Lipi or Asees font.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert Anmol Lipi to Unicode Punjabi?

Paste the text into the left box. The Unicode Gurmukhi appears on the right; press Copy result. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Does it work for Asees and GurbaniAkhar?

Yes. Asees, Anmol Lipi and GurbaniAkhar use the same keyboard layout, so the same converter handles all three.

Can I convert Unicode Gurmukhi to Anmol Lipi?

Yes. Choose Unicode to Anmol Lipi, paste the Gurmukhi, copy the result, and set the font of that text to Anmol Lipi or Asees in your software.

What about Gurbani symbols like Ik Onkar?

The Ik Onkar sign (ੴ) converts both ways. Some Gurbani fonts add extra symbols for vishraam and special glyphs; those may need a manual check.

Why do numbers turn into Gurmukhi digits?

Anmol Lipi draws the keys 0 to 9 as Gurmukhi digits (੦ to ੯), so the converter keeps what the text showed. Replace them with 0 to 9 afterwards if you prefer.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The conversion happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
