Back to plain text

Paste fancy text (cursive, bold, glitch, upside down, bubbles) to get normal letters back, for example to make it searchable or readable.

Which letters are missing

Small caps covers every letter except a true small x (a plain x is used). Superscript has no q, so a plain q appears. Subscript only exists for about half the alphabet (a, e, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, r, s, t, u, v, x), so the rest stay normal size. No set has small capital letters for upper and lower case separately, so all three come out in one case.

Why small caps fits bios better

Most small capitals are one character each, while bold and cursive maths letters count as two in most apps. That makes small caps the best choice for tight limits like TikTok's 80-character bio.

Where it renders

Small caps renders on every current phone and in Minecraft. Superscript and subscript render widely but look uneven because they come from several Unicode blocks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make small text?
